I don't know about UPS, I had to pay an additional $48 broker fee on top of the $30 shipping I paid just for my new seat foam and cover! I hasn't very happy but what can you do?

NEVER order anything out of the US unless they ship USPS. If they ship any other way don't do it. Like Intrepid says, it'll be a surprise bill at your door for $50 to $70 more than you thought.
The couriers all charge a brokerage fee at the border. Basically, everything that comes across the border needs to be brought across by someone. Since you are not physically at the border (or Customs) it can't be you. Therefore the couriers have their own representative to handle the paperwork etc. and act as the "importer", which is the broker. Problem is, UPS and other couriers charge up to $70 for this service.
Personally I think it is a huge ripoff, but I get around it by only getting stuff shipped USPS, and if they don't ship that way I don't buy it - and usually send them an email explaining why I didn't shop at their online store in hopes that they will change to allow shipping via USPS in the future.

You'll get hit with brokerage fees only if you use UPS standard: Other UPS options are faster and the net cost is usually less than standard rate + brokerage fees http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shippi ... rance.html

Canadas motorcycle is selling those helmets for the same price not discounted. Doesn't seem that much of a sale.
