I hear you, but it's a klr with a tube in good shape...minus the new patch pieces. I'm a long way from going tubliss!

First impressions of the Kenda TrakMaster II rear tire.
1) Hooks up great when off road
2) Noisy as hell on slab, compared to the Dunlop 606
3) Feels greasy when cornering on paved roads
4) Seems to want to drag down into the grooves on paved roads. I attribute this to a soft sidewall. I run at 18 lbs, but maybe it needs to be jacked up a bit.
Overall, I'm enjoying it, but it might just be due to having a brand new tire on the back. That's always a treat.

Thanks Kelly, I have a set of Kenda Big Blocks on order that should be here on Monday the 29th.
The Heidenau-K60 I've been running are wore out, they're wore old way too quick for the price point. Learning experience so they say.......

Price was definitely a factor here. If it holds up for a season of hard riding I'll be happy.

Just an FYI the ol' Trakmaster is very responsive to changes in air pressure. I feel (or "felt" I guess cuz the DRZ is now gone) pretty confident taking corners at speeds that would look very questionable to the po-po. BUT, you have to diddle with the pressure to get away from that greasy/vague feeling and into "geez...pretty good for a knobby". This will depend on what bike you are riding and how aggressive you are. A little experimentation will definitely reward you!

Thanks Poindexter, I'll mess around with the pressure to see if I can get to a good balance. I ride a KLR, but I grind it pretty hard. It also has crappy suspension and I sometimes wonder if it's moving around when I'm cornering.
