Hi, just a quick question about what works best for hauling a bike like a KLR around. I have a half ton with a 6'6" box. Does anybody have advice regarding which type of straps to buy, where did you get them and how long etc. Other question is hitch mounted bike haulers. Does anyone have experience with them and recommend or not. The bike is a good 400lbs so it would have to be a fairly strong hauler. Brand, where to buy etc for the hauler would be appreciated! Thanks for any advice, I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I have never hauled around such a heavy bike so anything to make it easier will be a bonus!

I have a hitch carrier that can carry a KLR. A buddy of mine who owns a KLR has the same one. Its very handy.

I wondered about that one, I thought maybe a KLR type bike might be a little too much for it. Using one of these is easier then strapping the bike in the back of the truck? Do these things ever go on sale, although at $150 its a pretty good deal at regular pricing.

I think I got mine on sale for $99 a couple years ago. Still, 150 is pretty cheap compared to other ones I've seen. Its not the best build one out there for sure, but it does the job. My buddy has taken his KLR to BC on the back of a suburban without any problems.
