Here's a short sample from my Garmin Virb. I love this camera! I think the speed/altitude/compass thing is pretty cool, and the little thing on the bottom right is a sketch of the GPS track showing the "current" position.

I picked up the Sony Action Cam from London drugs.. http://www.londondrugs.com/Sony-POV-Act ... y%20action Only $200 . It has good reviews . It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but the price is right. It does come with a case and helmet mount, so I didn't have to buy anything else yet. If I did have an option of accessories I would want a display to tell me that it is on while riding. I haven't even got a chance to mount it yet because I am waiting for my new helmet to arrive. I'm going to try it out in Utah Don't expect any great reviews as I only picked it up because it would be a shame if I didn't take pictures during my vacation. My biggest concern with any camera is memory and the inconvenience of editing. I think I will deal with the memory concern by taking time lapse video.

Get a 64 GB card - gives you over 6 hours of HD video. Then go buy a 2 of 3 TB portable USB drive. Store all your video on that. Works fine for me.
Almost time for a new 2 TB portable hard drive, though...

I usually bring a computer on trips too. I have an older ASUS eee that is tiny (one of the first generation ones). I use it for file transfers and if it gets wrecked at least it's not my main computer.
If you're just out for a day ride and you shut the camera off when you're not riding then 64 GB is probably OK. If you need more than that carry two cards.

Buy one of these: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Asus-Laptop-eee- ... 3cbde51371Only $140 US. This is what I use - it's significantly smaller than 10" netbooks are today. Not a powerful computer by any stretch, but it will transfer your files and it takes up very little space in your pack.
