couple things i would need to add before a trip on gravel anywhere would be a skid plate and something different than the 90/10 tires that are on it now. Snobear what type of skid plate do you have on your bike.

Stu I have an SW Motech skid plate. It is an okay plate but the sides are riveted to the bottom and they started to separate after a few hits so I just took it in and got them welded together.
I am going to be running a Mitas E07 Dakar rear tire and Anakee Wild front for the trip north.

I was looking at the Happy trails skid plate, have one on my KLR that has been "field tested" over the last 4 yrs with great results. I was looking at the Shinko 804/805 tires as replacements, reading some good things about them. $$ and up to 6000 miles, 9600klm, for a rear on big adventure bikes.

I have heard good things about the Happy Trails stuff as well. I am getting about 20,000 kms out of the rear E07 and am running close to 30,000 on the Heidenau K60 front so they are more money but not really when you figure out the additional mileage.

Yeah I really like the looks of that bike kinda been in the back of my mind the past two years..... it’s gonna be kinda junky for the amount of money it would cost....
