Makes one wonder what the price difference will be.

Most likely more than last year, and a whole bunch more than last year, you choose! SGI, singlehandedly killing the motorcycle experience in Saskatchewan!

My guess is that there will be increases again this year. Probably the max 15% that the government capped it at a few years ago when there was all the ruckus.
SGI needs to realize that motorcycles don't necessarily need to pay for themselves - I am certain they don't in other jurisdictions because no one cares - the $6 per year that it would cost the average car driver isn't enough for them to really give a hoot. But for some reason in Saskatchewan SGI thinks it is.

Im wondering, i have a package policy on my bike. If i got the cheapest coverage would my package policy cover its shortfalls? I guess i should call sgi and see. Maybe this would be a good option

Hey, That is a good question for a lawyer, not for SGI... Personally, IMO you should inquire about it with a third party, not necessarily with your insurer... They have a little bit of an adverse interest when it comes to certain matters...
I have heard of guys that will get a "package policy" or "sitting insurance" for the year, and then purchase a day registration at a time. Of course this only works for people who get out on the bike once in a while vs a regular rider... But it's a thought for those of you out there who don't use your bike regularly...
But yeah, personally, tort... I like having the ability to sue, especially when it's not my fault... But, do you have enough money to weather a claim...
That's my rant... Let us know what you discover.

Thanks for the input! When i contacted my local sgi i was asked if i could wait untill after the 16th. As thats when the new changes take affect and they would know more about it by then. So i guess i will wait.
