Hey guys,
I am new to Saskatoon from Edmonton and I was part of the Alberta dual sport club. I am wondering if anyone knows if I need an out of province inspection to insure my bike here. Its a 2015 Suzuki Vstrom.
Where do you recommend going for maintenance and inspections here?
Thanks,
DJ Zee

If sgi and their employees knew what they were doing you could just ask them.......
The short answer is no inspection is required for your bike. Your probably going to get 7 different answers from 4 different people, and in the end you will need your original bill of sale to prove you owned the bike wile you were still in alberta and they will then grant you the privilege of paying our insane insurance rates without having it inspected!

When I was on the MRC, SGI talked about making the out-of-province inspection mandatory. I think they were trying to throw the dealers a bone, because the dealers make some money when you pay for labour for the inspection. Not sure whether it was actually implemented though. Before 2013 there was no inspection required, but I'm not 100% sure whether SGI has required it since then.

ok technically any bike brought in from out of province needs an inspection.
But there is an exception if you are moving from bc or alberta and bringing a bike you already owned here with you, but it needs to be 4 or less years old.
