Seems like every one is going to facebook SDS. It's a good platform to use.

I don't think membership itself is the issue - there are over 500 members registered with this site. But people are tending to use Facebook sometimes as well as this site. I try to keep an eye on both.
Facebook is convenient for posting, for sure. But I like the format of this site better. It's easier to find stuff and it's more organized.
It has been quiet lately here though...

I'm on mud and snow forum and there is lots of activity. In the summer we talk summer shit and the winter it's about the white shit. They've got topics on everything and no one gets upset if you put a post about the wrong kind of bike (HD) or politics or any thing. If this was Dual Sport and Snowmobile it would keep a lot of stuff going all year long.

This forum was used mostly for organizing rides, reporting on them and posting pics/videos. We haven't had as many group rides and camping trips over the last couple years so there hasn't been as much traffic here.
To keep it alive I think we need to try to get more rides/events happening and bring new members out. Years ago when the community was just getting started we had weekly coffee meetups, even if we weren't riding. It takes some time and commitment to organize it all and I had a lot more time for it when I didn't have 4 young kids and an endless stream of sports/activities to drive them to lmao.
Anyway, I plan to keep the forum up still because this is a great community and, even though the forum has been quiet for a while, it has the potential to be busy again. Hats off to the core group of guys here who do keep posting and organizing rides! I'm glad I can make it out to a few rides still and I plan on doing more in the future!
