yeah I hit a little snow through west yellowstone area but it didn't ice up like that. Ah thats to bad you didn't bring the jeep, and the 525 would be handy for some of the more difficult trails. You will proly need a day to get oriantated but yeah send me a text or something where you are parked/camped. allot of tent spots are full untill you get further from town... rv parks look packed here too. anyway the information center in town is a good place to stop at.

We parked at a 'free' site on the Colorado river east of town. We planned in doing some scouting today but ended up doing all of slick rock trail and then did porcupine 4x4 trail. Slick rock was a blast. A few sketchy spots where I thought I was toast but made it bout unscathed.
John I'll try and text you again tomorrow. Don't gave a signal where we're camped.

So.... it's been a few days now. You guys aren't stuck out in the desert somewhere, are you? Can't wait to hear about the trip and see pics and video. Ken, I expect a pile of video on this one - a full feature-length documentary would be nice.

We're still alive and having a blast... Met up with john on Tuesday and rode up through Hurrah pass and started up lockheart but figured it was too late in the day to carry on. Yesterday we rode sovereign single track trail and then Sevenmile rim up through Merrimac and monitor butte. Amazing riding and amazing views.

Hurrah Pass is pretty spectacular!
We started Lockhart Basin from the south (Needles Outpost) at about 3:30 PM. Didn't get to Moab until after 10:00! It takes longer than you think to go 60 miles on that trail! Probably a smart move to turn around! The trail does get easier as you go from the north though. We had it the other way - so it seemed really easy, but the closer we got to Moab the nastier it got.
Enjoy!

Go up to top of the world. 2 ways to get there. I went up rose Garden hill and around up to top of world.
It's bizarre up there. The rose Garden way You will see across the valley the middle of nowhere and few people living back there on a farm with these nice big green fields
If u make it to top of world look down and to right a bit. These high skinny rock formations climbers climb. Some movies shot there.
Steel Bender trail is cool. Cross the Creek a bunch of times. Go north to south way.
