just took the clutch out in my MXZ…so back to using Paula's Cat til its fixed. Oh well, good excuse to head south again for 10 days on the FJR . 2 of us rode down in oct (same as last year) and spent 2 weeks…rides,condo in Havasu and put bikes to bed in Vegas again. I got the f'n cold weather blues in nov and caught a cheap flight for another week. One more week and we head south again…still nice temps in nevada, arizona and ca. Xmas in Arizona with a bike….ahhhh

This is depressing for those of us who want to live like this but can't...

That said, I'm addicted. Keep the reports coming. (I must be a bit of a masochist...)

How far to Bullhead City?

back home in Maidstone after 10 days in arizona. Toasty and sunny for first week, hanging out at condo and day trips around: Bullhead is 45 min away down some twisties, Parker dam is 30 min south , and went out to the Desert Bar ( five miles down a trail…old copper mine, the place was rocking. )
The last 2 days the winter storm passing over southern u.s. kinda hit us…snow on palm trees and any hillsides had snow, all the way up to vegas. The local thought we we nuts to be out on the bike, but it was the only wheels we have there. Anyway still nice by sask. winter standards. The ride back to the storage and plane on new years day was sunny but only -2 for most of the 2 hr ride. Electic vests and grips came in handy.Now home shovelling last nites snow in maidstone. Thinking about the next ride down there….hhmmm…might go back later in Jan
The only oops on the trip was getting the bike out of storage the first evening, packing and then realizing that i had forgotten to register the plates again…pretty stupid ( since i normally claim to be pretty organized) . However a quick phone call to my sgi agent in maidstone …all fixed. Rode the bike kinda illegally until I got to Havasu the next morning. She knows me and laughed pretty hard over that mistake. She also rides. She sent me a picture of my registration in case i needed it.

Looks like a great escape from our snow lock. Hoping to get down to Arizona or Southern California (Big Sur) this feb. Is there much in the way of winter tenting sites down there? Was thinking of taking the kids to the Grand Canyon and camping there but then saw how deep the snow looked there, would prefer some temperatures closer to what a Saskatchewan fall would be like.

Seriously jealous man. You've got the right formula with keeping a bike down there over the winter months.
I'm hoping to get down to Phoenix next month as well but I'll be driving down with the bike on the hitch rack. Baroque_ja, if we're down there the same time we should ride some trails. I know of a couple great riding spots just outside of Phoenix.
