Years ago we had issues getting ice shacks off the lake at the end of the year, the ice was blown clear and the sleds had issues getting traction/turning. I put about 800 Kold Kutter studs in the atv tires and was able to pay for them by removing ice huts for a couple weekends. They were awesome! My dad still has the atv around, even a few years later they are sharp enough to be effective, and only a single one was broken off, none have ever pulled out.

the 7/8 inch, #10 shank, 1000 count package ran me just under $100 at the time.

traction was decent when all stud where there. by end of ride rear tire had lost 80% of studs.

yup… I remember years ago(10-15?) up at Turtle lake we all used to go on rides on lake and up to the Fire guard north…these were winters when we always seemed to have minimal snow. We always had a motley collection of dirt bikes, quads and sleds on the same excursions. I used to take my 2wd ex400 quad or my old xr250 bike, both had all tires filled with sheet metals screws… worked great even on the ice… quad even wheelied sending a shower of ice shreds. Just keep replacing as they wore the heads off or ripped out. We would get a lot of strange looks from the ice fishermen when we passed by. Ahhh…the old days ( I must be getting old):)
nowadays….head south for a bike ride . 3 days til we fly to vegas and the FJR.
