The Dalton Hwy from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay Alaska. I've been dreaming about it for many years. This year is a very special year for me, I just turn 50, and I have decided to make my dream come true. I will be leaving for Alaska on a 3 weeks trip on the 4th of July with 4 friends but only one rider, JeffDC, will do the entire trip with me. I will try to post every day pending access to the Internet using an IPad mini, not sure how well this will work... I just can't wait! The lures of the Dalton on AdvRider, I look at those posts after and they make me dream! http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=599310This video is from a group of riders who just arrived in Prudhoe a few days ago. These are the roads condition I'm expecting

Last Saturday morning, I was planning on doing some work around the house but because it turn out to be a rainy day I decided to do an early tire change, installed new brake pads and a new Touratech Rallye front fender. For this trip I'm going with new Continental TKC 70.

I've wanted to do a trip to the Arctic Ocean for years, but have found the tours (by air and ship) to be cost prohibitive (for me anyway). When Eric mentioned that he wanted to do this trip on his bike for his 50th year, I thought what a relatively inexpensive and great opportunity to be able to say that I touched the Arctic ocean. I will be happy to tag along as his riding partner on this awesome adventure. Looking forward to an epic adventure Eric!

Enjoy your trip !! was up in Alaska in 2003 on a BMW RT up as far as Ankorage , Dawson City Yukon and the top of the world highway, if you need any info on some great spots to camp or need some info please do not hesitate to call. This trip on the Dalton is a must and is on my radar also. Good luck, keep the rubber down!
