So Pilsbury, BT and Corney are heading out at the end of July for a 10 trip to Kaslo BC and back.
This will be BT and corney's fourth big adventure and pilsburys second adventure with us.
We will be heading through Banff down to Kimberly across the St. Mary Lake Rd to the ferry across Kooteney Lake. On the way back we will go south through who the hey knows where? We aren't good at making plans and go wherever the front wheel goes.
We were ther last year and had some great rides so we decided to go there again. When those signs say 30 kph you might want to slow down cause you can't see around that corner and crap happens around that corner.
I will try and figure out how to post pictures and commentary on the adventure. We sometimes never speak of some of the crap that happens. It is just better that way!

I second that! Take lots of pics and post them. And keep track of where you go so that you can show us all the good dirt roads and trails.

Been checking out Advrider to gather information on the St. Mary/Gray Creek pass. Also found out about a place called Lessier Hot Springs that is not a fancy resort just a place to walk to and soak the achy old bones and joints.
I have been checking out this site called Dualsportmaps .com and would like to try to link my GPS to this. Kiffer seems to be pretty good at this. I am not quite as literate at these kinda things. Appreciate any kind of assistance or suggestion that may be offered.
Anybody ever ridden the Gray Creek pass?

Hey Kiffer
I had a computer crash and lost my map source ,apparently you can only download it on one PC and I have to try and figure out how to do that. Spent three hours on that yesterday and pulled the rest of my hairs out! I do not have the ability to quit so I am notb done yet!!!!! Once I get that downloaded I should be good.
You are right it is Lussier falls, do you know any campsites by there so We can set up camp before we go there? I like to have that dealt with before I relax.

" Where is Kookanie Springs?"
Kokanee Creek Provincial Park = N49.60512 W-117.1228 - nice park & location but go to the overflow if you want sunshine in the morning. This pic was taken on the overflow beach in the morning - spectacular!
Halcyon Hot Springs = N50.51772 W-117.90023 - do have some camping - looked OK from where I was?
Nakusp Hot Springs = N50.29623 W-117.68559 - Nice camping here by the river - Yup CHECKMARK
Maps and more pics of my rides in July are here:
If you are interested in the gpx files let me know and I will post them.
I hear Trout Lake is a good ride......just watch for logging trucks......if I would have been on my Dakar in July I would have done it, but my July trip was a DUC pavement ride (mostly).
.........and Lussier Hot Springs parking lot = N50.136215 W-115.578941 and I have not been there yet, but just may some day.........and if you lost your MapSource(no longer serviced by Garmin anyways) get Basecamp (much better and they keep updating the software) FREE here: ........put it on as many computers as you want!
