we used to do Grey creek at the start of our Kooteney ride in aug('09 to '11). Fun but can be really dusty, in June still under snow tho. There was a section branching called the Powerline road which was incredible. We heard about it from the Nelson klr guys. However it was decomissioned that year and not sure if even passable anymore, if you can find the start. Grey creek can be done on four wheels depending on the weather, have seen trucks and even a few suvs on it, but wouldn't be much fun for your suspension.Around Nelson the 6 mile-Lemon creek trail is great and of course north of kaslo the Meadow creek- trout lake loop is a blast. Up the backside of Sandon was great in late fall. Looks like we will be there again this year in mid aug. Usually 5-9 of us. We start at Kimberley and make a 4-6 day loop hitting nelson, kaslo, new denver, nakusp and usually west over the Monashee. Even dual purpose bikes are a blast in the corners on pavement and when you see a trail, chase it. Hope to see other sask guys there this year.

Well last year the whole pass was closed to traffic. Spoke to a Forest Service guy around the St. Mary River Bridge and he was saying that nobody was willing to pay to open up the slide areas. Local guy and thought it was not right to close down that passage that cuts off many hours of driving between Kimberly and the Ferry at Balfour Bay.
