We slept pretty late that morning so we quickly packed and we stop at the 147 for lunch.

After lunch it was time to go home.
The last camp site.
That's it for this report. I hope more people get the t-shirt from Points Nord Landing. Now, I wonder if I can get a t-shift from Stoney Rapids? I just may have to try again!

Great report! That sandy/stunted tree landscape reminds me of a trip I did up to Goose Bay on the Labrador highway years ago.

Looks like it got sandier as you went on. Was the don't talk to crowd stuck in the sand or mud?
We need to make a ride up there again to cover the last stretch someday.
Thanks for sharing the pictures

Excellent adventure. This last weekend 3 of us did make it the whole way up on a 800GS,XR650L and a KLR. Ride report to follow in the next few days. But seriously congrats to anyone who takes the "road" north of Points. That road is that gypsum sand from about 110 until about the 60 marker and then turns to deep fresh and ridiculously sharp shale about 5 inches deep to black lake. Then easy riding for the last 20 to Stony.
For lack of social grace...... first..... Probably. lol Daniel

Looking forward to the report also and specially pictures of the the last 90 km. You guys saw a part of this country that not to many people have the opportunity to see. I just love it and will probably go back, take more time and fish along the way. Northern Saskatchewan is a beautiful place.

We were told by a local that the trail to the Lake Athabasca landing has a muskeg across it about 10km in. There may be other trails to the shore but you'd need someone who knows the area or detailed topo maps. Unfortunately we never saw the lake shore which is something I was hoping to be able to do.

Hey do guys have GPS tracks of the northern roads. It would be sweet to put any maps online and then keep a database for future trips that everyone could add to. It woul dbe very handy. Just a thought. I would love to do this trip sometime.
