I just bought a sjcam m20 and was wondering how you guys prefer to mount your cameras on the helmet?

Hey jdawg, I used to mount my ATC cameras on the side of my helmet using 3M 2-sided sticky foam pads. They work really well and you can carry spares in case the camera mount breaks off. They hold well, and the only times I've had a camera come off is when I've fallen and whacked the helmet on the ground. The foam allows the pad to compress differently in different spots, so if the helmet isn't perfectly smooth you can still get good contact of the adhesive area with the entire surface.

I was actually wondering about mounting locations wether there was a preference between top and side mounting or if anybody was chin mounting.

I mounted it to the top tonight for my ride but I wouldn't mind being able to see the bike a bit in the camera. I will have to throw the videos on YouTube next week and post them.

I like the side mount personally. The helmet blocks a bit of video on the side but, because the camera is eye level, it gives the best FPV angle.

I had my ATC camera on the side, and it was a good viewpoint. I have my Garmin on top, and it is good too. Not sure it matters that much. The side mount is easier to reach for starting and stopping the video and such. I could even pull my ATC camera off of the mount and look at it and make sure it was working, clean the lens, and put it back in all while riding (carefully, not like Invariant wheelieing his 500).
